Kinellar Primary School

This demanding site posed a number of challenges which presented an opportunity for the design team to develop a building over two levels which integrated into the townscape and effectively addresses the topography of the site.

The school includes a new multi-use games area, a life skills room and sensory room for pupils with additional support needs, a new community play park and car parking for use by the school and community.

Vice Chair Councillor Mark Findlater from Aberdeenshire Council summed up the project by saying: “This fantastic new facility has been designed in such a way it is truly inclusive for all. It suits the local landscape, it benefits from fantastic design features inside and out, and those inside should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved during the last few years.”
